November 11, 2008 – 4:49 pm
There are many ways to take good care of your henna on the skin. Here are a few useful directions: 1. Do not touch paste while drying. 2. Leave it on for a minimum of 2 hours. (the longer you leave the paste on, the darker it gets) 3. Let dry paste fall by itself. Do not use water to remove paste. 4. No water contact on henna for 48 hours to get good color. If needed, protect area by applying oil or vaseline before wash. FOR BEST RESULTS: When paste is dry, dab lemon juice to wet it. Allow the paste to dry again for 1 hour or longer. Lasts 2 weeks. It takes 48 hours for your henna tattoo to fully darken! Henna is known to bring good luck to who's wearing it. content kindly provided by the folks at sunhenna.com

What everyone getting henna needs to know: knowledge pitch

November 11, 2008 – 2:56 pm
if you draw on many people like i do, it is important to give them a clear and concise message about what henna is and how it works. Henna is a natural plant; henna paste is made from the ground shrub of the plant. The henna powder is mixed with lemon juice and Eucalyptus oil to make the fine henna paste I draw with. It’s all natural and safe for the skin. The henna design will be light orange at first, and then it will darken to a deep brown color within the first 48 hours. Keep in mind that henna on skin is heat activated. The longer you leave the paste on your skin, the darker and longer the henna tattoo will be. The end result of the henna tattoo varies upon the individual & where he/she has the design. Areas of the body close to palms, soles, wrists and ankles will stain ...

What does ’sifting henna powder’ mean?

November 11, 2008 – 2:32 pm
Sifting is the process by which henna powder is carefully passed through a nylon screen, discarding all debris and woad that might be left from the powdered leaves. This process leaves a fine powder that’s easier to mix and won’t make the paste clog your applicator. When purchasing henna powder, it is best to ask how many times the powder has been sifted. While most producers of henna sift their powder once or twice, the rule-of-thumb is 3 times to get a fine powder that won't clog your tips at all.

What to do with left-over henna paste?

November 11, 2008 – 1:51 pm
When the paste is made, you can use it for up to 3 days without refrigeration. However, we strongly recommend freezing the excess paste for future henna sessions. To reuse your frozen paste, simply put the bottle into hot water for 5-10 minutes to reactivate it. For stronger results on re-heated paste, add some more powder and Eucalyptus Oil in your mixed paste, let sit for 2-3 hours. This boosts up the color of your henna tattoos!
